RID King of Diamonds

King of Diamonds is a prolific sire of Irish Draughts around the worls and pops up in many a lienage. King of Diamonds is a common ancestor due to passing on a great temperament and plenty of performance. Our ISH stallon Creevagh Diamond Pride goes back to King of Diamonds.

King of Diamonds is described in ‘The Irish Draught Horse’ by Alex Fell as the single best known Irish Draught of modern times. King Of Diamonds is ranked 21st in the world breeding rankings for the period 1992-2001 on the basis of 19 of his progeny, including Rodrigo Pessoa’s Special Envoy, John Ledinghams’s Millstreet Ruby and Joe Fargis’s Mill Pearl.

King of Diamonds has produced many notable show jumpers and eventers.

He ranked 7th in the world rankings as a sire of show jumpers between 1990 and 1995.

He was bred at the Slyguff Stud in Co Carlow and was born in 1962.

Among some of the outstanding show jumpers sired by this horse are ,  ‘Carrolls Young Diamond ‘ , ‘Chill Chainnigh’ and ‘Carrolls Royal Lion ‘

King of Diamonds died in 1991 at the age of  29.

RID Grey Macha

Grey Macha was winner of the Irish Draught stallion class at the Royal Dublin society show in 1985 and has produced 435 foals who earned 355 show jumping points through 1999.

Over the years he has produced some oustanding show hunters who have won at major shows including Britains well known and repected horse show ‘Wembley’ in London. Grey Macha has also sired some outstanding RID mares and stallions throughout the world.

Our super young stallion Gladiator has Grey Macha in his lineage.

Silver Granite RID

Silver Granite was Reserve Champion at the Royal Dublin Show in 1989 and 1993.  His progeny (offspring) have acheived over 600 showjumping points making him a prolific sire of showjumpers including Ard Grandpa RID.

Our stunning stallion Quiksilva is believed to be the only stallion by Silver Granite currently standing in the UK.
